how do u watch the movies u have on the computer? i dont like to give a continuous 2 hrs, so just watch em with meals. so i end up watching just about 20-30 mins with every meal, n so every movie takes 4-5 meals, which means one movie in 3-4 days
so 4-5 days back, i read some mega-event being planned for Gandhi Jayanti, thought maybe i wont go for the event, but i can definitely watch the original, Gandhi, the one with Ben Kingsley n hundreds of actors. so i put it on, but in 2-3 meals, my mood changed, as usually happens, n then i decided to start another movie...
this time i chose The Pianist, which is about a Jew in Poland, around the time when Germany invaded Poland. in this movie there are shots where the drunk nazi soldiers just line up a group of jewish workers, n randomly shoot some of them. for no reason at all, they even jokingly say that they're killing the jews just to celebrate new years... at this point, this question came to my mind. how would Gandhiji had reacted to this? can u use non-violence against such unreasonable tyrants? i still havent finished that movie, but my question was answered a few mins ago...
today, Gandhi Jayanti/October 2 is now the International Day of Non-Violence. so i thought its a good day to watch the remaining part of Gandhi. somewhere around the last 45 mins of the movie, this female reporter comes in n asks Gandhiji about Hitler, n he gives his opinion abt it... if u wanna know what he said, google "Gandhi on hitler" n see the number of results u get. it seems Gandhiji even wrote a few letters to hitler...
